Hi Taylor,
I’m hoping you can give me some “Super-Food” advice. I practice yoga about twice a week (would love to do more, but time and budget constraints make it difficult!), and I run about 4 miles 3-4 times a week before going to work. I try to eat heathfully — lots of salads, fruit and veg, and lean protein. I also enjoy a couple of glasses a wine each week. While I feel myself getting healthier, my clothes still feel tight. Any tips to help me meet my weight loss goals? I’ve read about your dedication to veganism, but I’m just not ready to go there yet.

Dear Aspiring Super-person,
You’re on the path and that’s great! Once we set our intention and commit, the Universe conspires to assist us (Goethe).
There is a lot to ask and say about what you are and aren’t doing–but it’s just too much to go into here on my blog. At first glance, it could likely be food combining. If you eat the exact same foods but in a “proper” food combining order, most people lose 10-12 pounds effortlessly.
Another possibilty that comes to mind is that you aren’t eating enough good fat. Examples of this are avocadoes, nuts, seeds, and coconut oil. These actually boost your metabolism and give you tons of energy and focus. Super-foods are great too for these purposes.
You can read up on food combining, the raw food lifestyle, super-foods, super-fats, etc. utilizing the wealth of resources on my site.
If you are interested in weight loss, I would also increase your yoga practice to 5x/week. You will see results with this increase within two weeks most likely.
